This garlic shrimps with broccoli recipe is a tasty combination of veggies and seafood. It is also very easy to cook because most of the cooking procedures is stir fry. And you only need a few minutes just to cook this dish. When cooking this dish, you have an option of removing the shells of the shrimps or just leave it intact. If you will include the head and shell it will be more flavorful but shelled shrimps are easier to eat.
How to Cook Garlic Shrimps with Broccoli
Ingredients
- 10 pcs large shrimps
- 1 medium size head of broccoli cut into bite size pieces
- 5 stalks onion leeks chopped
- 5 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp. light soy sauce
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
- water for blanching the broccoli
Instructions
How to Cook Garlic Shrimps with Broccoli
- Remove the head and shell of the shrimps and leave the tails intact.
- Put in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- Cut the broccoli into bite size pieces. Discard the stem.
- Heat water in a pot and blanch the broccoli for a minute then put in a strainer. Rinse in cold water and drain.
- In an empty bowl, combine water, cornstarch, onions leeks, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar. Stir until the cornstarch and sugar are dissolved.
- Heat cooking oil in an empty pan and saute garlic until fragrant. Add the shrimps and saute for 3 minutes.
- Add the broccoli and saute for another minute. Then pour the cornstarch mixture and stir. Simmer until the sauce is thick.
- Turn off heat and serve hot!
