Delightful Delicacy

Chicken liver sauté, also known as “Guisadong Atay ng Manok” in Filipino cuisine, is a tantalizing dish that bursts with flavors. It’s a quick and easy recipe that offers a delightful fusion of tender chicken liver, aromatic garlic, and savory seasonings. In this recipe post, we’ll guide you through the process of preparing this delectable dish step by step, ensuring that you achieve culinary perfection in your own kitchen.

Preparation: The Key to Success

Before we dive into the cooking process, it’s essential to focus on the preparation phase to ensure your chicken liver sauté turns out to be a culinary masterpiece.

Washing and Draining the Chicken Liver

Start by thoroughly washing the chicken liver. This step is crucial to remove any impurities or excess blood. After washing, place the chicken liver in a strainer to allow excess water to drain. Properly cleaned liver is not only essential for taste but also for your health.

Sautéing Garlic, Onions, and Chicken Liver

Now that you have prepared your chicken liver, it’s time to move on to the sautéing process, where all the magic happens.

Heat a pan with a generous amount of hot oil. Sauté finely chopped garlic and onions until they become fragrant and translucent. This step is essential for infusing your dish with a rich, savory aroma.

Next, add the cleaned and drained chicken liver into the pan. Sauté them along with the garlic and onions for about two minutes. This short cooking time helps to lock in the liver’s natural tenderness while sealing in their delightful flavors.

Seasoning for Perfection

The secret to a mouthwatering chicken liver sauté lies in the perfect blend of seasonings. Let’s explore the art of seasoning in the next step.

Adding Soy Sauce, Salt, and Pepper

Once your chicken liver, garlic, and onions have had their brief sautéing moment, it’s time to introduce the seasonings. Pour a generous amount of soy sauce into the pan to infuse the dish with a rich, savory depth of flavor.

Sprinkle in a pinch of salt and a dash of freshly ground pepper to taste. Be mindful not to overdo it with salt, as soy sauce already carries a salty note. The combination of soy sauce, salt, and pepper creates a harmonious symphony of flavors that will make your taste buds dance with delight.

The Final Simmer

With your seasonings added, let the chicken liver sauté simmer for about 6-8 minutes more over medium heat. This allows the flavors to meld together, giving you a dish that’s not only tasty but also perfectly cooked. Remember, overcooking the chicken liver can result in toughness, so stay vigilant during this step.

Finishing Touch: Sprinkle with Parsley

As the final step in your culinary journey, sprinkle your chicken liver sauté with fresh parsley. This adds a touch of vibrancy to your dish, both visually and in terms of flavor. The parsley’s fresh, herbaceous notes will complement the rich, savory goodness of the sautéed chicken liver.

Serving Your Chicken Liver Sauté (Ginisang Atay ng Manok)

Now that your Chicken Liver Sauté is ready, it’s time to plate and serve this delightful delicacy.

Chicken Liver Sauté pairs wonderfully with steaming hot rice. The rice’s neutral flavor provides a perfect canvas for the rich, savory sauce of the sauté. To complete your meal, consider serving a small bowl of soup on the side. The soup’s light, comforting qualities balance out the bold flavors of the chicken liver sauté, making for a truly satisfying dining experience.
