How to Cook Browned Chicken Adobo

This recipe I have here is quite unique where you have to fry or brown the chicken meat first then cooking it adobo style.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo chicken your choice cuts
  • 1/2 head garlic  crushed
  • 1 pc onion chopped
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 cup Sprite or 7-up
  • 2 pcs bay leaves
  • 1 pc siling labuyo
  • 1/2 tsp. cracked black pepper
  • cooking oil for frying

Instructions

How to cook Browned Chicken Adobo:

  • Wash the chicken and cut into desired pieces. Drain and fry in hot oil until brown.
  • In a pot put the fried chicken, garlic, soy sauce, onion, bay leaves, sugar, siling labuyo, Sprite and black pepper.
  • Turn on heat, cover and simmer until tender and the sauce is reduced to half.
  • Serve hot.
